By the way, "humus" stands for "worm castings" here, it's generally called "humus de minhoca", where minhoca is the portuguese for worm. The confusion comes from the humus word in english which means portion of the soil formed by the decomposition of animal or vegetable matter, i think.

Não sei se entendi direito o texto explicando como o substrato de pó de coco e humus foi preparado, lá eu li que o subtrato deveria ser esterelizado por 1.5h na panela de pressão, mas, pelo que eu tenho conversado com o Shroower ultimamente, parece que o substrato deve ser apenas pasteurizado, pois se ele for esterelizado ele fica mais fácil de contaminar. Então, posso simplesmente esterelizar o humus com o pó de coco ou vou ter que arrumar maneiras inventivas para pasteurizar isso?

Also, dung/manure should be Pasteurized - not sterilized. Sterilized dung will contaminate very quickly, just like straw.

I like worm castings better than manure/dung. You can sterilize castings and they still work very well.

Humus usually means composted leaves/bark and other things. If the Humus is rich and dark (almost black) and smells like fresh earth, it will work. Real castings or dung would work better, though.

resumindo, ele diz qque se utilizar ESTRUME = pasteurize, se utilizar HUMUS OU COMPOSTAGEM ORGANICA = esterelize.
